    Job description

    Position Description:

    The Sales Manager is responsible for accelerating profitable growth in Korea through new business acquisition, strategic account development, sales team leadership, and organizational capability building.

    The role combines direct sales responsibility with leadership accountability for team performance, organizational effectiveness, talent development, sales discipline, commercial quality, and long-term capability growth.

    This position reports to the Area Manager, DNV Business Assurance Korea and will be part of the Business Assurance global sales network.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute Korea sales growth plans with clear ownership of new business acquisition, strategic account expansion, pipeline generation, and conversion of qualified opportunities into contracted revenue.
    • Drive sales growth across management system certification, training, and relevant assurance services in Korea.
    • Achieve assigned individual sales targets while leading the Korea sales team to meet collective sales, pipeline, conversion, customer retention, and profitable growth objectives.
    • Own sales pipeline governance, including lead qualification, opportunity tagging, sales stage management, forecast accuracy, quote quality, win/loss analysis, and timely CRM updates in accordance with DNV sales processes.
    • Identify market trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and emerging business opportunities, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensure commercial quality of proposals, including appropriate pricing, scope understanding, contractual awareness, and compliance with DNV approval requirements.
    • Build and manage an effective ecosystem of consultants, referral partners, industry associations, and market channels while ensuring compliance with DNV independence, impartiality, and ethical requirements.
    • Ensure timely tagging of sales leads and opportunities in the system, accuracy of sales quotes per DNV rules, guidelines and practices;
    • Initiate and actively participate in market communication activities including seminars, conferences, exhibitions, customer events, and digital campaigns.
    • Participate in global sales initiatives and support digital sales transformation through adoption of effective sales tools and best practices.
    • Sustain and strengthen existing customer relationships through retention, renewal, cross-selling, and value-based engagement.
    • Participate and contribute in the global sales network meetings and initiatives and ensure the sharing and implementation in Korea;
    • Lead, coach, and develop the Korea sales team through objective setting, performance management, capability development, succession planning, and a performance-oriented culture.
    • Collaborate with operations, technical managers, finance, marketing, and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment between sales commitments, business priorities, and delivery capability.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
    • Minimum 8 years of relevant B2B sales experience, including demonstrated experience leading, coaching, developing, and managing sales professionals.
    • Proven track record in new business acquisition, strategic account development, pipeline generation, and successful conversion of complex sales opportunities.
    • Strong leadership and people management capability, including performance management, team development, stakeholder influence, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Strong business orientation with an entrepreneurial, accountable, and market-development mindset.
    • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in Korean and English.
    • Ability to engage senior decision makers and translate customer business challenges into compelling value propositions.
    • Experience managing sales targets, forecasts, pipeline reviews, CRM discipline, and sales performance reporting.
    • Strong commercial awareness including pricing discipline, contractual understanding, and risk escalation capability.
    • High level of ownership, execution discipline, and attention to detail.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in certification, assurance, testing, inspection, consulting, training, sustainability, risk management, cybersecurity, automotive, aerospace, food, or other professional B2B service industries.
    • Knowledge of management system standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC 27001, IATF 16949, AS/EN 9100, FSSC 22000, or related schemes.
    • Experience managing key accounts, enterprise customers, or strategic partnerships.
    • Existing network within Korean industry sectors, professional associations, consultants, or relevant market channels.
    • Understanding of the certification and assurance market landscape in Korea.
