ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Location: Ottawa, ON (On-Site)
Reports to: Head of Finance
THE ROLE
We're looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper who enjoys building order in fast-moving environments. You'll own the day-to-day financial operations that keep Dominion running smoothly, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll support, expense management, and month-end preparation.
This isn't a transactional accounting role buried in a large finance department.

You'll work closely with leadership, help establish scalable financial processes, and ensure the company has accurate, timely financial information as we continue to grow.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Run monthly Canadian and international payroll.
- Process invoices, payments, expense reports, and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
- Support payroll processing and employee reimbursements.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accounting records.
- Support audits and government reporting requirements.
- Help improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Work closely with operations and leadership to resolve financial issues quickly.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Comfort with AI and utilizing technology to gain efficiency in the role
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving startup environment.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in manufacturing, hardware, aerospace, or defence.
- Payroll experience.
- Experience with ERP implementations.
- CPA designation or working toward one is an asset, but not required
No defence background required.
