Machinist - Weekend Shift (All levels)

Job Summary:

We are seeking Machinists at multiple skill levels to join our Machine Shop team. In this role, you will set up, operate, and program a variety of machine tools—including CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment—to produce high-quality packaging machine components. Depending on experience, work may range from low-to-moderate difficulty machining under direct supervision to highly complex machining performed independently with very close tolerances, unusual requirements, and opportunities to mentor others, support continuous improvement, and serve as a technical resource within the cell.

What You’ll Do:

· Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written specifications, machine drawings, and part drawings to machine parts to specification.

· Set up, operate, and program a broad range of production work involving close tolerances, exacting setups, vice work, and fixturing techniques.

· Operate multiple types of machine tools and perform progressive machining.

· Send and receive programs to and from the network, write and execute programs, and make or suggest program edits based on part requirements and machining results.

· Use micrometers and other precision measuring tools to verify size, shape, and tolerance requirements.

· Perform second operations during machine cycle time.

· Maintain work areas in accordance with 5S standards and perform routine maintenance.

· Support part throughput by flexibly operating equipment and performing operations according to priority lists and due dates within the assigned cell.

· Perform quality checks and, at more advanced levels, quality audits of completed work within the machine shop.

· Comply with all safety policies and procedures and look for opportunities to recommend safety improvements.

· Pursue training and cross-training in all areas of the Machine Shop as equipment availability allows.

· For experienced machinists, serve as a technical resource, mentor, trainer, or key person within the cell; support continuous improvement activities; assist with difficult projects; and help evaluate emerging technologies such as tooling, software, robotics, and multitasking equipment.

· Ability to communicate with internal customers regarding technical information and processes for advanced-level work.

· Flexibility to support production needs, which may include adjusting work schedules, working outside core hours, or traveling when necessary for advanced assignments.

· Anderson CNC Routers

Education and Experience:

· Technical degree in Machine Tool Technology or a related field with any level of machining experience.

· Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

• All full-time positions offer attractive compensation and benefits that include ESOP stock allocation, 401(k) match, a company health clinic, medical, dental, life and disability insurance, volunteer time off, along with holiday pay and paid time off.
• The base pay for this role is $21.00 - $31.00/hr.  This is a weekend shift and will receive a shift differential of 20%, resulting in an adjusted wage of $25.20 - $37.20/hr.
