Manufacturing Quality Control - QTMP

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing QC Inspector to support rollingstock manufacturing operations across the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program.

This is a hands-on role where your inspections, technical expertise and attention to detail will help ensure rail vehicles are manufactured safely, efficiently and in accordance with stringent quality requirements.

Working closely with production teams, suppliers and project stakeholders, you will contribute to building a proactive quality culture while supporting the successful delivery of Queensland's next generation passenger fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection and surveillance activities across manufacturing operations, including carbody, bogie and fit-out production.
• Verify compliance with technical specifications, drawings, standards, procedures and quality requirements.
• Identify, report and escalate non-conformances, quality risks and production issues.
• Promote Downer's Zero Harm culture and actively support safety, quality and environmental initiatives.
• Collaborate with production teams, suppliers and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and quality outcomes.

What You'll Bring

You're a quality-focused professional who takes pride in delivering work to a high standard and understands the critical link between quality, safety and customer outcomes.

You will bring:

• A trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical/Fitting, Weld Inspection, Coating Inspection or a related discipline.
• Experience performing quality control inspections within a manufacturing, rail, heavy industry or engineering environment.
• The ability to read, interpret and apply technical drawings, standards, specifications and quality documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with workshop personnel and project stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and problem-solving.
