Senior Project Manager

The opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager delivering pump station and network capacity upgrade across the Unity Water Program. In addition to managing the delivery phase of the projects you will be collaborating with design, scheduling, cost and commissioning and maintenance teams to ensure smooth transitions and project success. 

Our team is at the forefront of a diverse range of construction initiatives, including water and wastewater treatment plants, expansive water and wastewater networks, critical asset renewal projects, and flagship sustainable energy and utilities projects across the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Region.

What you’ll do

• Manage, coordinate and deliver Network Capacity Upgrades

• Foster a culture of innovation, proactively develop team members, provide mentoring, leading by example and demonstrating a strong commitment to the Downer Standard and Zero Harm.

• Support budget management processes and collaborate with the Senior Project Manager to optimise cost, implement improvements, ensure accurate records, reports and forecasting

• Support procurement processes including implementation of Procurement Management Plan, Subcontractor engagement processes and supplier processes. 

• Build strong relationships across design teams, clients and internal stakeholders to support optimal delivery across projects

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification

• Cert IV or Higher Project Management certification

• Leadership qualifications (Frontline Management or the like) highly regarded

• Minimum 10+ years of complex project management experience within the water, pipeline or network upgrades 

• Experience in large scale design and construct treatment plant construction and upgrade works and large-scale water transfer projects involving micro-tunnelling and deep shafts. 

• Previous team management and leadership experience
