Overview

The Hydro Vac Supervisor is a critical leadership position responsible for the seamless

execution of daily field operations, administrative precision, and the highest standards of

safety compliance. This role serves as the central hub for departmental efficiency,

overseeing everything from financial oversight and equipment maintenance to team

development and strategic scheduling. This role will set the standard for excellence,

ensuring that operational data is accurate, crews are safe, and the department remains profitable and efficient.

Primary Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct two field safety audits per week covering JSA documentation and excavation safety.
• Ensure DOT compliance and lead regular department safety meetings.
• Manage the vehicle maintenance program, fuel cards, and monthly inspections.

Operations & Administration

• Secure and track purchase orders daily, with updates submitted by 9:00 AM.
• Oversee scheduling, ticketing, and time entries in Service Core, ensuring accurate pricing and job scopes.
• Ensure all field staff are trained and proficient in Service Core.

Management & Development

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Control department costs, reduce non-billable time, and improve efficiency.
• Lead hiring and develop training programs and career paths for the team.
• Plan dispatching, crew pairings, and truck routing for project success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operations management experience in industrial services or construction (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of excavation safety and DOT regulations.
• Proficiency in Service Core or similar field service software.
• Solution-oriented, accountable, and able to meet strict deadlines.Essential Skills

• programs to build team competency and clear career paths.

Working Conditions

• Field Presence: Requires regular travel to job sites to conduct safety audits and provide
• operational support in various outdoor environments.

Environmental Exposure:

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, includingextreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.

Physical Demands: Ability to navigate uneven terrain, climb in and out of vehicles, and wear

required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.

High-Pressure Deadlines: Fast-paced office and field environment with a strict focus on

meeting daily 9:00 AM administrative and reporting deadlines.

Schedule Flexibility: Primarily a daytime leadership role, but may require occasional early

morning, evening, or weekend availability to support field emergencies or urgent projects.

Safety Hazards: Regular proximity to heavy machinery, excavation sites, and commercial vehicle traffic, requiring constant situational awareness.
