    Job description

    • Salary Range: Intern-$27-$40/hour
    • FLSA Status: Non Exempt

    Build Your Future at DTCC

    Financial Risk & Governance
As a Financial Risk & Governance Intern, you will gain exposure to DTCC’s approach to identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling market, liquidity, and stress testing risks related to the clearing and settlement process. You will support the team’s work across risk monitoring, analysis, reporting, and governance activities while building a practical understanding of how DTCC helps manage risk for its clearing agencies, members, and the broader financial markets.

At DTCC, interns contribute to meaningful work while learning how the financial markets operate behind the scenes. You will be part of a structured summer experience that combines team-based project work, training, feedback, mentorship, and opportunities to connect with leaders and peers.

    About the Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program is a 10-week experience designed to build a strong foundation for early-career talent. The program includes orientation, training, manager engagement, feedback milestones, networking, and development experiences that help students explore potential full-time career paths, including EDGE where applicable.

    What you will gain

    • Hands-on work connected to real business priorities, not only observation or administrative tasks.
    • Structured orientation and training to help you understand DTCC, the industry, and your business area.
    • Manager support, mentorship, peer connection, and opportunities to build your network.
    • Development experiences focused on communication, feedback, professional skills, and career readiness.
    • Mid-point and final feedback to help you understand your strengths, development areas, and potential next steps.
    • Exposure to DTCC culture, values, and community engagement.

    What you will do

    Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will support financial risk monitoring, analysis, and governance activities while learning how DTCC manages clearing and settlement risk.

    • Support day-to-day risk monitoring activities, including reviewing changes in margin requirements, collateral needs, liquidity usage, and trading activity across member firms.
    • Assist with analysis of member activity and trading patterns to help identify trends, emerging risks, or items that may require additional review.
    • Develop an understanding of clients’ business and risk profiles to help support risk-related inquiries, internal reporting, and clear communication with stakeholders.
    • Help prepare, review, or enhance documentation, reporting, and process materials that support strong governance, controls, and effective risk management.
    • Collaborate with team members and internal partners, including areas such as Quantitative Risk Management, Counterparty Credit Risk, and other risk teams, to learn how financial risk is managed across DTCC.
