Overview

The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist is responsible for supporting and promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance across Envanio's air pollution control and environmental technology operations. This role serves as the regional HSE point of contact for employees, field service personnel, subcontractors, and customers, helping ensure that all activities are performed safely and in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations.

The EHS Specialist provides hands-on support for field service operations, equipment installations, site commissioning activities, and subcontractor management. Working closely with project management, field service, engineering, quality, and customer site personnel, this position helps identify and mitigate risks while ensuring successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving as the primary local HSE resource for offices, field service, installation, and project personnel.
• Supporting field service teams and equipment installation activities by providing safety guidance, risk assessments, and compliance oversight.
• Conducting job hazard analyses (JHAs), site safety assessments, and pre-task planning reviews when necessary.
• Monitoring compliance with OSHA regulations, customer safety requirements, company policies, and applicable environmental regulations.
• Assisting with contractor and subcontractor safety qualification, orientation, and performance management.
• Participating in site audits, inspections, and safety observations to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, while facilitating root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Maintaining required safety documentation, training records, permits, and compliance reports.
• Supporting the development and delivery of HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
• Coordinating with customer HSE representatives and site management to ensure alignment of safety expectations and work practices.
• Tracking HSE performance metrics and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
• Assisting emergency response planning and ensuring readiness for field and site activities.
• Support global HSE network with technical information and administrative tasks.

The HSE Specialist plays a critical role in protecting employees, contractors, customers, and the environment while helping Envanio safely deliver high-quality air pollution control solutions and field services throughout North America.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE/EHS) roles supporting industrial, manufacturing, construction, field service, or environmental technology operations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, contractor safety management, hazard recognition, incident investigation, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver training and interact professionally with employees, contractors, customers, and regulatory agencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 10% -15%  to support field service, installation, commissioning, and customer site activities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to access customer and industrial work sites.
• Professional certification such as OSHA 30-Hour, CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), OHST (Occupational Health and Safety Technologist), or equivalent.
• Experience supporting field service teams, industrial equipment installations, commissioning activities, or environmental control systems.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements related to air pollution control, emissions control technologies, hazardous waste management, or environmental permitting.
• Familiarity with contractor qualification platforms and customer safety management systems.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Experience supporting multi-site operations and working with geographically dispersed teams.
