    Overview

As an Product Application Engineer at East Penn, you’ll become the technical bridge between our engineering, quality, manufacturing, and sales teams — and the global OE and Aftermarket customers who rely on our products every day. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility position where your ideas, problem‑solving skills, and technical leadership directly influence the next generation of battery technology.

    You’ll guide projects from concept through production, lead technical reviews, collaborate with teams across all levels of the organization, and represent East Penn as the trusted technical voice in customer interactions. Whether you’re evaluating new designs, supporting manufacturing improvements, or presenting technical insights to partners around the world, you’ll play a key role in shaping products that power industries, vehicles, and innovations across the globe.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide Engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, H&S, Sales, Costing, and Maintenance on Automotive products, equipment, and tooling.
    • Prepare and deliver information, technical reports, and presentations to management, customers, vendors, and technical partners.
    • Contribute to concept generation and ideation processes.
    • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of proprietary information.
    • Perform other duties which may become essential to the position.
    • Lead regular technical reviews throughout all phases of a project.
    • Interact with production and engineering at all levels.
    • Travel worldwide for the company as required (possibly up to ~25%)
    • Manage projects that drive the creation of new battery designs or improvements to existing products for the OE and Aftermarket customers.
    • Create, maintain, and update published technical information.
    • Support other Application Engineering personnel as needed.
    • Represent East Penn as the technical interface with the OE and Aftermarket customers.
    • Field calls and e-mails from East Penn sales contacts, OE, and Aftermarket customers.
    • Lead customers on in-plant tours
    • Evaluate devices that interface with the battery in an OE application
    • Participate in the testing, reviewing, and approval of battery designs.
    • Evaluate the measured performance (cpk/ppk) of processes to ensure the processes’ ability to fulfill customer and EPM performance and safety requirements.

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline.
    • 4+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
    • Previous project engineering or management experience required.
    • Prior manufacturing experience; familiarity with the battery construction process preferred
