The Director of Recruitment leads and coaches the Recruitment team to mobilize long-term missionaries, stateside workers, and operational staff in alignment with East-West’s Great Commission ministry goals. Shifting from traditional recruitment to Kingdom-focused mobilization, this role drives innovative sourcing strategies, fosters dynamic external networks, and ensures a shepherd-hearted candidate care experience. By aligning vetting pathways across all departments and serving as a relational bridge-builder, the Director guides candidates through barriers while upholding the organization’s vision, mission, and biblical values.

A Day in the Life:
- Spiritual Leadership & Prayer: Ground the day in prayer for candidates and lead team spiritual formation activities.
- Team Coaching & Leadership: Lead recruitment staff and help them navigate candidate roadblocks and mobilization bottlenecks.
- Internal Hiring Alignment: Partner with Field, Operations, and Development leaders to clarify requirements and refine interview pathways.
- Strategic Networking & Pipeline Building: Connect with churches, campuses, and mission networks to cultivate strong referral channels.
- High-Level Requisitions: Conduct diagnostic screening interviews for critical field and leadership roles.
- Innovation & Strategic Planning: Monitor department lead measures, budget, and modern mobilization tools to continually optimize sourcing.
- Candidate Care Oversight: Ensure every applicant experiences clear, shepherd-hearted communication from application through deployment.
- Faithful Stewardship: Complete administrative oversight and internal communications as an offering to the Lord.
The Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, leadership, missiology, or related field.
- Recruitment Experience: 5+ years leading talent acquisition or mission mobilization.
- People Management: 5+ years direct experience managing, coaching, and empowering direct reports.
- Faith & Alignment: Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with organizational mission.
- Pipeline Innovation: Proven success driving proactive sourcing and expanding candidate pipelines.
- Missions Context: Background with faith-based nonprofits, mission agencies, or cross-cultural fieldwork.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to build trust and partner with executive leadership and department heads.
- Strategic Networking: Track record of cultivating external relationships across mission networks and universities.
- Shepherd-Hearted Care: Strong relational intelligence focused on candidate discernment and spiritual direction.
- Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ATS platforms, CRMs, and recruiting analytics tools.
- Operational Leadership: Skilled at strategic delegation, project management, and removing team roadblocks.
- Candidate Vetting: Ability to assess applicants accurately for doctrinal, cultural, and role-specific fit.
