Schedule: Full-Time or PRN, Monday–Friday, school hours only

Benefits (Full-Time Staff): Comprehensive insurance + paid time off + school-year schedule

Make a lasting difference—one child at a time.

Easterseals Florida is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our school-based therapy team serving students across Volusia County Schools. If you’re passionate about helping children reach their full potential while enjoying the rhythm of the school year, this is a wonderful opportunity to do meaningful work with a supportive team.

Thinking about making the transition to school-based therapy? We provide mentorship and support to help you succeed. Enjoy a school-year schedule and flexible scheduling within the school day. This is an excellent opportunity for parents or professionals seeking greater work-life balance.

    Why You’ll Love This Role

    • Follows the school schedule: Work during the academic year, with evenings, weekends, and summers off.
    • Paid school holidays (for full-time staff), including Winter Break and Spring Break.
    • Optional summer work: Opportunity to sign up for Extended School Year (ESY) assignments for additional earnings.
    • Supportive, collaborative environment within a mission-driven organization that values both its staff and the families it serves.

    What You’ll Do

    • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to assess students’ needs.
    • Develop and deliver individualized treatment plans that support student success.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school teams through IEPs, SSTs, 504 Plans, and problem-solving meetings.
    • Track progress using EMR and other approved systems in alignment with DOE and Easterseals standards.
    • Prepare reports, justifications, and documentation to ensure quality service and compliance.
    • Mentor and supervise assistant-level therapists (COTAs), interns, and volunteers.
    • Participate in peer reviews and ongoing professional development

    What You Bring

    • Master’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
    • Current State of Florida Physical Therapist license and eligibility for an NPI number
    • One year of related clinical experience and/or training (pediatric therapy experience preferred)
    • Current CPR Certification
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills
    • Integrity, flexibility, and a heart for helping children thrive
    • Pediatric or school-based experience preferred
    • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for program-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)

Join Easterseals Florida and enjoy the best of both worlds — meaningful, school-year work that supports children’s growth, and the time to recharge and renew each summer.

Apply today to bring your passion for pediatric therapy to where it matters most—our schools!
