Job SummaryAssists the Group Tours Specialist/Manager(s) in planning, developing and finalizing group tour arrangements. Also, assist in the sale of specified planned tours. May escort specified tours. This position may work on a variety of tours or specialize in certain areas, such as rail travel, special groups or motorcoach.
Job Duties- Assists in the planning, arranging and coordinating of group tours sold by AAA to the members, general public and/or special groups.
- Escorts group tours as assigned.
- Assists in the negotiating with vendors, receptive operators, hotels, tour operators, etc. to obtain the best competitive value for pricing the group tour.
- Assists in all documentation, ticketing, and posting of payments from branch offices.
- Works with the Accounting Department to close out tours.
- Maintains accurate files on each tour.
- Assists branch offices with any problems that may arise with tour arrangements.
- Staffs travel show/conference booths as necessary.
Qualifications- High School GED Required
- 1-3 years Travel Counselor or related experience. Preferred
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Light typing and ability to compose and type client correspondence required.
- Background in bookkeeping or accounting required.
- Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) - The Travel Institute Preferred
Travel Requirements- Travel leading tour groups as required. (40% proficiency)
