Compiler Engineer (f/m/d)

eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.

About the Role:

As a Compiler Engineer (f/m/d), you will contribute to the advancement of our quantum compiler ecosystem, building technologies that enable efficient quantum program execution. You will work across compiler infrastructure, optimization, code generation, and developer tooling.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain compiler infrastructure and software systems

• Build and optimize compiler and code generation

• Write, test, debug, and optimize production-quality code

• Implement optimization techniques and intermediate representations

• Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of the compiler software stack

• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable compiler solutions.

• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making

Required skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Quantum Information Processing, or a related technical field

• Experience in compiler engineering, systems programming, or infrastructure software development

• Hands-on experience developing compilers or developer tools

• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, and Rust

• Understanding of compiler design, optimization, and intermediate representations

• Familiarity with LLVM, MLIR, QIR, or related compiler frameworks
