Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous Proofreader / Copyeditor to join our editorial team. As a Proofreader / Copyeditor, you will be responsible for reviewing and editing digital publications to ensure clarity, grammatical correctness, adherence to brand voice, adherence to brand guidelines, and overall quality. You will collaborate closely with writers, designers, and other stakeholders to produce error-free content across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit content for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and consistency.
• Ensure adherence to company style guides, brand voice, tone, and industry.
• Verify factual accuracy and check references to ensure content validity.
• Collaborate with writers and designers to improve readability and visual appeal of content.
• Provide constructive feedback to writers on content improvements.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure all content meets established standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Proofreader, Copyeditor, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and writing mechanics.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot errors and inconsistencies quickly.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using proofreading and editing tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with writers and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SEO principles and optimizing content for search engines.
• Knowledge of marketing software (e.g., Adobe Marketo) is a plus.
• Experience digesting and simplifying technical language.
