JOB SUMMARY:
The Porter/Groundskeeper is responsible daily for picking up and cleaning the entire apartment complex community exterior including amenities and common areas using company-supplied materials and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Cleans and picks up trash from around trash dumpster, ensuring a clean and tidy appearance at all times.
- Cleans and arranges furniture and trash receptacles in pool area(s). Possesses pool operator’s certificate. Tests chemical level of pool water on daily basis and checks to maintain proper chemical balance. Follows manufacturer’s directions for use of company-supplied materials and equipment.
- Cleans and maintains club facilities in an orderly, presentable and decorative fashion.
- Maintains cleanliness of office and all other amenity and common area facilities assuring general cleanliness of grounds, laundry rooms, walkways, streets, driveways, parking lots, entrances, foyers, breezeways, recreational areas, etc. May perform exterior building light checks and assist with repairs and replacement of same.
- Performs supplemental landscape maintenance and irrigation system repair and/or supplemental watering of lawn and landscape areas so that landscape areas are tidy, trimmed and properly watered. May be required, in the absence of separate yard crew or outside landscape maintenance contractor, to perform extensive in-house landscape and gardening duties such as mowing, edging, trimming, sweeping, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, planting, etc as needed.
- Thoroughly cleans out vacated apartments designated by supervisor and prepares same for make-ready and re-renting, including carpet repairs, dyeing and shampooing as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or GED
- Previous groundskeeper experience is strongly preferred
