EmberHope’s part-time, unpaid Marketing and Events Internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and event coordination. Working alongside the marketing team, the intern will help share EmberHope’s mission, create engaging content, and bring community events to life—including upcoming Centennial celebrations. Assignments will reflect the intern’s availability, interests, and learning goals, with guidance and supervision provided by the marketing team.
*PT Intern up to 20 hours a week*
To be successful you must be able to do the following always:
- Assist with monitoring social media comments, messages, tags, and interactions, referring questions or concerns to the marketing team.
- Help organize email marketing contacts and prepare Mailchimp drafts for newsletters, events, and donation appeals.
- Capture photos and videos at events, when available, following agency privacy and photo-permission guidelines.
- Help design flyers and email graphics using EmberHope’s branding and existing templates.
- Help bring EmberHope events to life by contributing ideas, assisting with planning and coordination, preparing materials, and supporting day-of activities such as setup, guest welcome, signage, seating, and refreshments.
- Assist with submitting and following up on support tickets with Meta and other social media platforms and enter Zendesk ticket information into a tracking spreadsheet.
- Help keep EmberHope’s website current through supervised updates.
- Assist with taking Staff Spotlight headshots when available
- Support podcast content creation, planning, filming, and basic editing.

To qualify for this job, you need to have:
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Business, or a related field
- Must be 21 years of age and pass a background check, fingerprinting, physical and drug screening, and maintain company-required training.
- Ability to travel, drive a company or personal vehicle, walk upstairs, work on a flexible schedule, and meet physical working requirements involving occasional outside and frequent environmental conditions.
