We're looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Material Handler to join our team in Mission, Canada. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our warehouse operations, ensuring that materials flow smoothly from receiving through to shipping. You'll work collaboratively with teammates to maintain exceptional service levels while upholding the highest standards of safety and organization. - Receive, verify, and process incoming vendor shipments and customer returns by obtaining packing slips, checking for discrepancies, and entering material into the computer system
- Pick and pack customer orders with meticulous attention to detail, comparing items to shipping documentation to ensure accuracy
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in compliance with all safety protocols
- Assemble and prepare materials for shipment, completing all necessary documentation including Transportation of Dangerous Goods paperwork when required
- Identify and properly store special order items, damaged materials, and returns in designated locations
- Document and report shipping discrepancies to the appropriate team members and initiate freight claims as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment by removing empty cartons, pallets, metal banding, and other debris
- Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, and any safety concerns that could impact customer service
- Assist teammates in providing excellent customer service at the counter when needed
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support operational goals
- High school diploma or equivalent; college or university degree is an asset
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to accurately process orders and verify inventory
- Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment (training provided)
- Intermediate math skills for counting, verifying, and reconciling inventory
- Ability to learn and operate warehouse management software systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to following all health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Resilience and adaptability when managing multiple priorities
**Preferred Skills:**
- Experience with Infor M3, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Previous warehouse or inventory management experience
- Knowledge of industry-specific products or materials
- Forklift certification or equivalent material handling credentials
