With offices across North Carolina, we’re currently seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team. The Accounts Receivable Manager oversees and manages the assigned AR team in the Virtual Business Office (VBO). Manages staff for efficiency and effectiveness, monitors benchmarks, and reviews performance statistics. The manager is responsible for working with individual teams and practice staff alone or with the VBO Director to support goals and protocols of the revenue cycle workflow or revenue-affecting tasks. The individual must be able to process large quantities of data to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and research any barriers to successful revenue cycle management. Collaborates with other AR Managers as required.

Qualifications and Experience 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years’ experience in AR/Billing, preferably in healthcare or medical practice setting
• Supervisory experience required

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

• Oversight and management of assigned AR teams
• Successful distribution of work among staff members to drive work allocation and productivity management
• Complete staff performance review processes: leadership approval required
• Measure and monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of staff
• Responsible for the overall success of the AR teams to ensure claims are followed up promptly
• Monitor benchmarks and expectations in relationship to associated Custom Claim Worklist(s), relational AR Worklist(s), reporting, projects, or team/department goals
• Review performance statistics weekly, monthly, and quarterly leveraging athenaNet reporting tools, including overall performance metrics (e.g., DAR, practice collections), key driver metrics (e.g., MGRHOLD lag), and staff productivity metrics (e.g., MGRHOLD productivity, Unpostables volume)
• Ability to research and process large quantities of data, analyze trends, and identify areas where behavior is not compliant with expectations. Communicate accordingly through VBO Director based on organizational policy and process 
• Identify improvement opportunities based on performance metrics and trends
• Research and direct claims resolution in athenaNet using associated athenaCollector system knowledge of the upstream and downstream impact of work
• Oversight and management of revenue cycle platform tables (i.e. insurance, interface, fee schedule)
• Monitor KPIs for assigned staff across all regions
• Research and assist VBO with any/all barriers to successful revenue cycle management
• Define root cause analysis and drive claims resolution
• Utilize all available reporting tools to provide insight into financial health of the organization  
• Work with individual departments and practice staff, alone or in conjunction with the assigned AR Specialist, to support the goals and protocols of revenue cycle workflow or revenue tasks
• Communicate with Managed Care companies acting as a liaison representing the CBO for all reimbursement issues and good will communications
• Pursue relevant continuing education and disseminate learned information to downstream teams
• Create an “open door” policy and environment for staff to raise billing-related issues as they happen; provide support as needed
• Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
