Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Software License Management Specialist works to ensure we manage the software assets and complete required deliverables to support the customer’s mission to provide IT services to DoS users enterprise wide.

Responsibilities:

• You will ensure a complete and accurate inventory of all assets and licenses acquired or deployed into production environments. You will be part of the team that maintains an official record of hardware and software assets and warranty information.
• Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive hardware and software asset management throughout the asset life cycle, ensuring that software end-of-life is included, including reconciliation activities, report generation, trend analysis, periodic inventory reviews, and operational compliance support.
• You will assist in developing and implementing License Management and Tracking Procedures for each software license and maintenance category in coordination with the customer.
• You will monitor active warranties and ensure that all software purchases are covered by appropriate warranties to meet Government requirements.
• Full life cycle license management includes coordinating license renewals and tracking potential warranty expirations that could affect the license renewal process.
• The Software License Management Specialist ensures software renewal process shall be just-in-time, avoiding any overlap in license or maintenance costs.
• You will keep the Asset Management System current with new expiration dates following each renewal and identify and document any penalties associated with early renewals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The following are the education and experience required for this position:

• 3+ years
• Associate's or equivalent
• Secret Security Clearance

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

  • Ambulate between several buildings
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
  • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds

If hired for this position, the base salary range would be within the range provided. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to work location, skills, experience, gov con contractual requirements, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Empower AI's total compensation package for employees.
