    Job description

    ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Operations Services team located at our Fort Liberty Facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This position is onsite. Travel, including overnight stays, is required.

    The Assistant Facilities Manager works with the Facilities Manager to deliver results related to Environmental, Health, and Safety, financial performance, plant reliability and efficiency, customer satisfaction, and employee training and development. This successful candidate must have a technical understanding of and practical experience with energy distribution, production and components associated with various equipment including motors, control centers, boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, generator, etc. This individual provides leadership and guidance in addition to technical support for all facility technicians. The Assistant Facilities Manager establishes performance expectations at both the employee and facility levels. In addition, this role provides proper tracking and recordkeeping for various facility, customer and corporate reports.

    The essential functions of the position include:

    • Perform as the primary technical and operational assistant to the Facilities Manager at a single customer site acting in their place during absences
    • Serve as the master technician leading the troubleshooting and correction of complex maintenance issues beyond capabilities of operators. Oversee the proper implementation of preventative/planned maintenance programs; periodically review documentations and inspect execution and quality of work
    • Oversee all site personnel for compliance to ESG and customer policies and procedures; provide daily work direction during absence of the Facilities Manager
    • Ensures plans are in place and leads actions to improve performance and meet all site performance objectives and customer contract Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
    • Oversee training program(s) at the site; ensure all personal training records are properly maintained and detail the training that’s both required and completed; communicate with Human Resources to track training
    • Provide technical evaluation & detailed economic analysis of; a) Expense projects & subsequent recommendations; b) Forecasting future maintenance costs (Operating Plan Development)
    • Manage multiple above base line projects, major repairs and replacements of equipment
      • Coordinate with multiple sub-contractors
      • Ensure all project hours are tracked and invoiced
      • Assist in all aspects of the project, including development, construction, and close out
      • Ensure project deadlines are met
      • Communicate project updates with the customer and ESG
    • Manage all periodic operational reporting to the customer and ESG management
    • Responsible for all periodic data readings and trend reporting
    • Lead periodic customer and team meetings in absence of Facilities Manager
    • Establishes performance and behavioral expectations and then tracks employee performance to assist in accurate and constructive performance appraisals in accordance with ESG’s performance management system and policies
    • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

    Your background includes:

    • Associate’s degree in a pertinent technical field or comparable industry training and license
    • Five (5) years’ related experience in the operations, maintenance, and emergency repair of power generation, central steam and chiller plants and auxiliary equipment
    • Prior managerial and/or supervisory experience

    A bonus to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree and ten years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • OSHA 30 training
