    Job description

    Sha Tin College is seeking to appoint a Finance Administrator. This role assists the Finance Manager in managing accounting procedures and accurately recording all financial transactions in the school's finance system, ensuring high standards of financial probity and value for money are upheld within the school. This is a temporary position from Mid Oct 2026 to Apr 2027.

    Job Specifications / Main Accountabilities 

    To be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, primarily associated with accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets and monthly processing.

    • To prepare, record, verify, analyse and report accounts payable/receivable transactions
    • To pay vendor invoices, receive and post customer payments on a timely basis
    • To maintain and reconcile accounts payable/receivable ledger accounts, financial statements and reports
    • To perform bank reconciliations
    • To assist the Finance Manager in administering school bank accounts and PTSA accounts
    • To prepare analyses and reconciliations of bill runs to detect fraud
    • To ensure that transaction entry verification procedures are followed
    • To prepare and deliver customer billing and respond to resulting queries
    • To manage fixed assets
    • To prepare PTSA fund reports monthly and process PTSA payments
    • To support the Finance Manager in performing financial analyses and budgetary control
    • To be an active and enthusiastic member of the team
    • Gain a good understanding of the whole school operation
    • To perform other reasonably assigned duties as allocated by the Finance Manager and Senior Leadership Team

    Education

    LCC higher level or above, or Diploma in Accounting or equivalent

    Experience

    • Proven track record with at least five years in a finance function
    • Excellent hands-on experience using Excel and Word
    • Fluency in oral and written English and Cantonese
    • Experience of using Accounting software
    • Experience in producing management accounts
    • Experience of liaison with external audit and taxation bodies
    • Previous experience in school finance would be advantageous, but is not essential.
