As an Assistant Researcher, you will support researchers in executing research assignments and projects while contributing to reliable experimental outcomes and continuous improvement in research methods.

Make a Difference as an Assistant Researcher

As an Assistant Researcher, you will assist Researchers and Senior Researchers in preparing, conducting, evaluating, and documenting experiments and trials. You will work closely with research colleagues and cross-functional teams, including Biotechnology, , Breeding and Operations, to exchange information, discuss findings, and support the successful execution of research and routine disease testing projects and diagnostics.

This position is based in Bangalore and offers an excellent opportunity to professionals to build practical research experience in a collaborative environment.

In This Role, Your Work Will Include

• Assist in the preparation and execution of experiments and trials initiated by Researchers and Senior Researchers.
• Assist with the implementation of research protocols, methods, and techniques.
• Support data collection, phenotyping, observation recording, and maintenance of accurate research records.
• Report and discuss test results with Researchers and Senior Researchers in a clear and structured manner.
• Support the preparation and presentation of research findings to internal colleagues.
• Support pathogen and insect diagnostics using relevant serological, molecular, microscopic, and other appropriate diagnostic methods, depending on project requirements
• Learn and apply relevant laboratory, field, and inoculation techniques, depending on project requirements.
• Coordinate with colleagues in, Biotechnology, , and Breeding to exchange information and follow up on research activities.
• Follow applicable quality, health, safety, and research procedures while conducting experiments.
• Keep up to date with developments in the field by reading relevant professional and technical literature.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary and international research projects, where applicable.
• Maintain research data and records using relevant digital systems, , and Microsoft Office tools.

What You Bring as Our Future Colleague

As an Assistant Researcher, you bring scientific curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to develop your practical research capabilities. You are comfortable following established protocols, collecting and analyzing information, and working collaboratively under the guidance of experienced researchers.

In Addition, You Possess the Following

• An educational background Master’s degree in, Plant Pathology / Entomology /Biotechnology
• Up to 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in conducting disease/insect phenotyping research, trials, laboratory activities, including disease diagnosis.
• Basic understanding of experimental methods, research protocols,data analysis and data documentation.
• Good analytical and observation skills.
• Willingness to learn new research methods, techniques, and digital tools.
• Good collaboration and communication and presentation  skills.
• Proficiency in English and the relevant local language (Hindi/Kannada).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; or research data-management systems would be an advantage.
