Data Center Surge Lead (Travel Team)

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

EOS IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Center Surge Lead to lead mobile teams supporting data center deployments and operations across North America. Surge Leads are responsible for quickly establishing structure, directing technical teams, and ensuring successful execution of deployment, repair, and recovery activities in fast-paced environments.

Travel & Compensation

• Travel 70-90% throughout North America
• Ability to deploy within 24-48 hours' notice
• Support deployments lasting 2-4+ weeks
• Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and variable shifts
• $250 weekly travel bonus in addition to base pay

Key Responsibilities

• Lead teams of 6-10 technicians during deployments and operational recovery efforts
• Assign work, set priorities, and drive productivity and accountability
• Manage deployment projects, break/fix activities, and SLA-driven ticket work
• Assess site conditions and implement plans to improve performance and reduce backlogs
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for site leadership, SDMs, and client stakeholders
• Provide hands-on support with:
• Rack and stack
• Fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting, and splicing
• Hardware repair and break/fix activities
• Ensure work meets quality, safety, and operational standards

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data center operations, deployments, or hardware support
• Strong experience with rack and stack, fiber infrastructure, and break/fix work
• Prior experience leading technical teams in fast-paced environments
• Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to take ownership and perform effectively in high-pressure situations

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in data center environments
• Manual dexterity for handling cabling and hardware components
