Lead the Future of Water Infrastructure — Join EPCOR as a Process Engineer

Are you ready to drive innovation and lead transformative projects in the water and wastewater industry? EPCOR is hiring a full-time, permanent Process Engineer to join our North American Commercial Services (NACS) team in Taylor, Texas.

This is your opportunity to manage the full lifecycle of high-impact infrastructure projects — from concept through commissioning — while shaping the future of sustainable utility services across Texas and beyond.

This is a hybrid position and requires traveling, frequency will depend on the business need.

What you will be responsible for:

    • Perform conceptual design and engineering calculations while leading preliminary engineering efforts for prospective water projects
    • Analyze contract terms from an engineering and technical standpoint to mitigate risks and ensure deliverable integrity.
    • Select engineering consultants and construction contractors through value-based bidding and proposal review.
    • Manage and administer engineering consultant and construction contracts. Serve as the technical lead throughout contracts.
    • Review and evaluate design and technical documents prepared by consultants, including performing independent engineering calculations, analyses, and modeling to validate design assumptions and recommendations.
    • Manage and execute startup and commissioning plans and activities for new facilities.
    • Coordinate design and construction activities with Operations staff.
    • Engage with regulatory agencies, utilities, and property owners to secure permits, licenses, and approvals.
    • Provide technical support to operations staff through the development of operating procedures, facilitation of after-action reviews, and participation in Management of Change (MOC) processes.

What you need to be successful:

    • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
    • Professional Engineer’s License in Texas or willingness to obtain one.
    • Minimum five years of experience in water/wastewater engineering, project management, and infrastructure operations.
    • Advanced understanding of water/wastewater treatment systems and current technologies.
    • Expertise in designing and standardizing technical requirements for engineering projects.
    • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence for effective collaboration.
    • Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
    • Intermediate understanding of utility operations and familiarity with safety and regulatory standards.

    Why EPCOR?

    • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance, plus a competitive 401K retirement plan with a defined contribution of 5.25% plus another 4% company match.
    • Work-Life Balance: Paid vacation starting at 2 weeks (eligible for more based on experience), 12 paid company holidays, 10 sick days, 5 personal days, one Friday off per month, and other wellness programs.
    • Career Development: Tuition reimbursement, certification support, and ongoing training.
