    STARTING SALARY: $62,200 - $108,176   Salary is commensurate with experience

    JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE: 

    As part of the Human Resources Employee Benefits team, this position is responsible for the administration, communication, and coordination of the Company’s employee benefit, wellness and leave of absence programs. The Benefit Partner, working under general supervision of the Manager/Supervisor – HR Employee Benefits, is responsible for managing the employee relationship and providing education, guidance, and support to our active, vested, and retired members. This position ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Duties include, but are not limited to, day-to-day employee benefits administration, leave of absence administration, customer service, reporting, audit, document processing, data analysis, vendor invoicing and reconciliation, and annual/special projects as needed. This role will have varying degrees of responsibilities depending on position classification.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of

    • Related education, training and experience.

    • MBA or related graduate degree preferred at Senior or above level

    • Certified Professional (PHR, SPHR, CPB & CCP), preferred at Sr. or above level

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5 years or more of experience preferred

     MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

    1. Knowledge of welfare and retirement benefits plans including, but not limited to, medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life, AD&D, STD/LTD, FSA/HSA, COBRA, EAP, 401(k) and Pension programs.

    2. Working knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.

    3. Working knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA and other benefit-related topics.

    4. Proficiency in MS Office, web-based and related job-specific software applications.  Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud  preferred.

    5. Ability to analyze and interpret data in order to prepare reports and presentations.

    6. Ability to effectively prepare and clearly deliver presentations to large groups of employees related to the Company’s annual benefit enrollment and other employee benefit-related meetings

    7. Ability to deliver superior customer service.

    8. Ability to communicate with various levels with internal and external customers in a professional, courteous and timely manner.

    9. Strong time management and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy and ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines.

    10. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, utilizing a high degree of professionalism, autonomy, and collaborative skills when resolving problems.

    11. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    12. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers and fellow employees.

    13. Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:      

    1. Ability to understand, interpret and communicate the Company’s benefit programs, plan documents, plan provisions and summary plan descriptions.

    2. Perform HRIS system updates related to benefit enrollments, FMLA and leave of absence administration, qualifying events, COBRA, disability, life, accident, and death claims, QDRO’s, QMCSO’s, and PTO administration.

    3. Provide ongoing customer service for internal and external clients; maintain insurance carrier and vendor relationships.

    4. Conduct and coordinate new hire benefit orientation, annual open enrollment meetings, benefit trainings, and wellness events at various sites as needed throughout the year.

    5. Create and maintain SOPs as procedures and processes change and track changes.

    6. Develop and explore communication tools and techniques to enhance member understanding, awareness and engagement for all benefit offerings provided by EPE.

    7. Coordinate annual testing and audit processes to possibly include: 401(k) non-discrimination testing, FSA discrimination testing, outside service providers testing, 1095-C ACA testing and preparation, Form 5500 prep and others as assigned.

    8. Perform general bookkeeping/accounting tasks such as budget preparation, vendor invoicing processing, account reconciliation, audit reporting, and other duties as assigned.

    9. Contribute to the development and delivery of cost-effective benefit and wellness events and activities leading to positive employee outcomes to maximizing return on investment.

    10. Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations.

    11. Performs other related tasks that are not specifically included but are within the context of the duties defined.
