Bring Events to Life at the Bayfront Convention Center

Looking for an energetic, hands-on role where no two days are the same? Join the Operations and Event Set-Up team at the Bayfront Convention Center! This is your opportunity to play a key behind-the-scenes role in hosting some of the region’s most exciting conferences, galas, weddings, expos, and more.

Whether you're building a stage, arranging tables for a black-tie dinner, or setting up for a trade show, your work directly shapes the guest experience. If you take pride in being part of a team that makes things happen, this role is for you.

    Key Responsibilities

As part of our Operations team, you’ll be involved in every phase of event preparation and teardown:

    • Event Set-Up & Breakdown: Set up tables, chairs, stages, pipe and drape, skirting, and more—ensuring every space is event-ready and meets client specifications.
    • Room Configuration: Follow floor plans and instructions to accurately stage rooms for meetings, banquets, and exhibitions with attention to detail and efficiency.
    • Equipment Handling: Safely move, stack, and arrange various furniture and fixtures of different sizes and weights.
    • Use of Tools & Machinery: Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts (training provided) to assist with set-ups and move materials efficiently.
    • Facility Maintenance: Assist with general housekeeping and cleanliness of the venue before, during, and after events.
    • On-Site Event Support: Remain adaptable and responsive during events, ready to reconfigure a space or help guests and clients as needs arise.
    • Team Collaboration: Work in close coordination with other team members, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth event execution.
    • Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional service to guests, vendors, and clients with a can-do attitude.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Must be 18 years or older
    • Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment and furniture safely and efficiently
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Able to take initiative and work independently when needed
    • Flexible schedule availability—must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Prior experience in event set-up, operations, or general labor is a plus, but not required
