IFE Technician

An In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) Shop Technician tests, troubleshoots, and repairs aircraft cabin entertainment and communication hardware components in a specialized workshop. Coordinating with airlines and vendors for spares availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required IFE maintenance activities ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and relevant technical data to optimize serviceability of aircraft IFE components to support operational requirements. 

• Test and fix faulty IFE components like seatback screens, handsets, seat boxes and servers.

• Performs troubleshooting, run diagnostic software tests, and complete detailed maintenance documentation.

• Completes all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with current company procedures. 

• Carries out maintenance work in compliance with company, health and safety and airport procedures and regulations. 

• Ensures that the latest revision and approved maintenance data is use during maintenance.

• Ensures that all material, tools, and maintenance equipment are properly accounted and secured before and after the work shift.

• Coordinates his/her maintenance activities to his/her superiors. 

• Ensures equipment and premises utilized by maintenance staff in a serviceable, clean and safe condition. 

• Accepts appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution. 

• Wears equipment provided by the company for health and safety reasons, and to promote the company corporate image, as appropriate. 

• Ensures that all work performed at Etihad Engineering are in accordance with its processes and procedures and done in a safe manner. 

• Document work accomplished IAW customer’s requirements and station’s procedures.

• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

• Be proactively involved in all Health and Safety matters.

Qualifications

• College Diploma / Degree Course in avionics, electronics / aviation maintenance. 

• Good computer skills

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in avionics aircraft or avionics component shop maintenance.
