Job Summary
The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a federally funded TRIO program supported by the U.S. Department of Education and dedicated to expanding access to postsecondary education and career opportunities for adults. Under the supervision of the Educational Outreach Programs Associate Director, the Education Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the objectives and conditions outlined in the EOC grant application. This position assists with planning, developing, coordinating, and delivering programs, activities, and services that promote postsecondary education and career advancement, ensuring effective service delivery to approximately 1,000 adult participants across a broad geographic region. The Education Coordinator supports participants through the financial aid process, including completion of college and scholarship applications; recruits and selects new program participants; and collaborates with postsecondary institutions, local and state agencies, community organizations, and other college access programs throughout the seven target counties
The position is located at the ETSU at Kingsport, Allandale campus. This full-time position is contingent upon grant funding.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in college access or a college access–related field, and/or experience organizing and facilitating educational programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Education, School Counseling, Human Services, Social Work, or an education-related field.
Two (2) years of experience working with adults.
Two (2) years of experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Five (5) years of experience working in college admissions, financial aid, college access, or career exploration.
TRIO work experience.
