This role is for a hands-on developer/engineer with extensive development knowledge specializing in automation using Python. The candidate will research, define, document and promote technical directions, including high-level designs. The candidate will be responsible the automation of manual network and security services. The goal is to be able to orchestrate the deployment and management of various automated network and security services.
The position requires a strong background in network infrastructure, application solutions and business architectures, and a solid understanding of leading IT technologies.
Primary Responsibilities
• Development of our next generation network automation platform.
• Working experience with Agile, continuous integration and other web2.0 development concepts
• Appetite and appreciation for highly disruptive projects which challenge the status quo.
• Build and promote a DevOps culture
• Evaluate and provide technical solutions to complex application development problems.
• Review testing deliverables and identifies gaps, issues and potential solutions.
• Identify key application design issues (e.g. maintainability and performance) and recommend possible solutions.
• Contribute effectively at many different points in a project life cycle as an individual contributor.
• Mentor other team members.
Education and Experience
• 3+ years of development experience with strong working knowledge of Python, HTML, Django, shell scripting.
• Proficiency with MySQL, Apache, GIT, RabbitMQ, MVC, automated testing frameworks/TDD, Open Source technologies, and web2.0 techniques.
• Preferred previous experience interfacing with network devices, such as IControl/F5, Cisco, Firewalls.
• Experience with service and resource oriented architectures, RESTFul design, and Web services.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Knowledge designing scalable systems
• Awareness of both current and developing technologies
• Strong desire to innovate and develop future technology
