SUMMARY:
Assess, diagnose and treat patients with mental health conditions, including providing therapy, prescribing medications and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. SUPERVISOR: Medical Director or Designee
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify mental health conditions.
- Review patient history, conduct mental status exams and utilize diagnostic tools.
- Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnoses.
- Implement evidence-based therapies and interventions, including medication management.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, as appropriate and within scope of practice.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual, group and family therapy sessions.
- Utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy.
- Medication Management : Monitor patient(s) responses to medication and adjust dosages as needed.
- Educate patient(s) and families about medications and potential side effects.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and other team members.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines Adhere to governing bodies not limited to HRSA, OMAS and COA requirements.
- Education and Outreach: Provide education and support to patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
