Assists residents at mealtime, as well as with taking nourishment, and records intake.
Assists residents with elimination needs, aiding in the collection of specimens as directed.
Assists in applying protective devices, with nurse’s direction, and checking residents as indicated.
Takes temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight of residents.
Maintains precise, accurate, and complete charting of resident care.
Observes, records, and reports resident changes, both physical and emotional, reporting significant resident findings promptly to unit/charge nurse.
Reports concerns related to residents’ rights promptly to unit/charge nurse, nurse management, or a social worker.
Fosters a safe and calm therapeutic environment, encouraging and assisting residents toward improved function, self-care, and independence, as they are capable.
Labels and maintains an inventory of residents’ personal belongings. Assists residents with storing belongings.
Performs housekeeping tasks related to resident care, including changing bed linens; collecting soiled linens; making beds; cleaning beds, bedside stands, and other furniture; straightening drawers and cupboards; cleaning up spills; and wiping off surfaces.
Engages in one-on-one and group activities with residents.
Escorts residents to appointments, activities, and outings as assigned.
