CNC Operator Reports To: Router Lead Classification: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: Yes POSITION SUMMARY The CNC Router Operator helps bring the customer’s vision to life as they launch the production process of customer orders. They are responsible for the correct setup, operation and maintenance of our CNC routers. They will run parts to customer specifications, verifying the quality of parts produced while working to reduce and eliminate scrap materials.
This role requires a high level of attention to detail, precise measurements and passion for producing quality products that further the Fiber Pad mission of producing the highest quality products for their customers. This role works under established guidelines and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Set up and run 3 axis and 5 axis CNC routers with trim tooling fixtures and appropriate cutting tools based on the specifications of the project, notifying programmers of issues or discrepancies.
Read and interpret blueprints to recognize issues and verify accuracy and specifications. Follow SOP’s for products and machinery. Trains on quality standards to deliver quality products with focus on reducing errors and scrap. Assists with training new operators, providing accurate demonstration of how to perform tasks. Collaborate with programming and engineering to resolve any issues, providing input into resolution of issues.
Adhere to safety protocols while working around materials and equipment. Assist in all phases of housekeeping to keep the facility clean and organized to help maintain a neat and tidy work area. Perform other duties as needed or assigned by leadership.
