    Contract Type: Permanent

    Salary: FC5 £29,170.80 - £31,761.26 per year

    Working Pattern:  36 Hours per week

    Location: Based at Brunton House, Cowdenbeath with Blended Home Working

    Job Details

    The successful candidate will specialise in Housing Access & Homelessness, contributing to ongoing projects and providing advice & support to Area teams, FHR Partners and Homelessness Services.

    • As a Fife Housing Register Officer, you will be responsible for:

    • Accurately assessing Fife Housing Register applications in line with FHR policy, processes and guidance within the legislative framework.

    • Investigating and gathering supporting information for applications and contacting current and former landlords across tenures.

    • Providing support and advice to applicants, colleagues and partners.

    • Carrying out Active Housing List Management duties to maintain the Fife Housing Register.

    • Assisting and supporting applicants in applying for housing as required, responding to applicants in writing or verbally.

    • Assisting in the development and implementation of systems, guidance, policies, procedures and action plans.

    The Person

    If you meet the essential criteria outlined below, we’d like to hear from you:

    • Educated to SCQF level 6, which includes Highers or SVQ level 3 or equivalent, preferably in housing, care or related discipline.

    • Experience of carrying out an assessment of information and accuracy of information with knowledge of how to do this against a set criteria.

    • Case/project management skills.

    • Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.

    • Time and workload management skills.

    • Knowledge of Housing systems and/or good IT skills.

    • Ability to provide a regular and effective service.

    Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

    You will be able to demonstrate: -

    • A knowledge or understanding of Common Housing Registers.

    • Knowledge and awareness of national housing initiatives, housing regulation and housing legislation

    • Knowledge or experience of managing customer information

    • Communication skills

    • Team working skills

    • An ability to support transformational change and innovation as part of service development
