FINFROCK is seeking a VDC Technician to support Virtual Design and Construction activities across building, site, and precast coordination.
- Create, set up, and maintain Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection (MEPFP), and site Revit models from 2D design and construction documents.
- Compile subcontractor and consultant models in Navisworks, perform clash detection, document coordination issues, track their status, and support resolution with VDC Project Coordinators and project teams.
- Verify coordinated systems against project drawings, specifications, scopes of work, precast components, and other project requirements.
- Embed model information for pricing, quantity takeoffs, coordination, and downstream project use.
- Develop Revit site models and Foundation Utility and Site Improvements (FUSI) plans, including cut/fill analysis and identification of site-related coordination issues.
- Generate survey point data for foundations, embeds, and precast layout.
- Perform post-processing of 3D scan and point-cloud data and assist with field scanning when needed.
- Coordinate with outside MEPFP and civil subcontractors while supporting internal engineering, architecture, precast drafting, manufacturing, and construction teams.
- Assist VDC Project Coordinators on finished-building projects, support parking-garage coordination efforts, and take on increasing project responsibility as proficiency develops.
- Two-year degree in design, drafting, construction technology, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of 3D modeling experience preferred.
- Revit experience strongly preferred.
- BIM/VDC coordination experience preferred.
- Relevant construction experience may be considered in place of direct VDC experience.
- General knowledge of building construction and construction drawings.
- Experience with MEPFP systems preferred.
- Experience with precast/prestressed concrete, civil surveying, or civil/site design is a plus.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
Software:
Revit is the primary software used in this role. Navisworks is also important. Experience with the following is beneficial:

Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms for productivity, research, and problem-solving is a plus.
