The result is extremely engaged employees who provide unmatched client satisfaction. With comprehensive total rewards to support our team members, a commitment to valuing each other’s differences, and a focus on improving our communities, we are confident you’ll find the experience is your advantage. We’re delighted you’re considering joining us!

Lead a Trusted Platform. Support Clients. Strengthen Key Relationships.

First Business Bank is seeking a Director to lead our Company Retirement Plans business within Private Wealth. This role offers the opportunity to step into an established, well-respected platform and ensure its continued success through strong client stewardship, team leadership, and partnership across the organization.

Our company retirement plan business is a core value-added service for our commercial clients and prospects. As Director, you’ll play a key role in maintaining that offering and guiding strategy, delivering a high-quality experience, supporting internal partnerships, and ensuring long-term client satisfaction, while identifying opportunities to further strengthen and expand relationships over time. This leadership position will be a player-coach, managing a team of retirement planning professionals.

    • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and accountable culture
    • Support team development and continuity over time

    Oversee Operations & Platform

    • Manage key vendor and recordkeeper relationships
    • Ensure strong governance, compliance, and operational execution
    • Help maintain and evolve the platform in line with client needs

    Contribute to Business Development

    • Participate in client and prospect conversations alongside internal partners
    • Bring a broad perspective to presentations and relationship discussions
    • Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and pursue new ones where it aligns with client needs
(This role values a commercial mindset, without a singular focus on originating new business.)

    Experience & Background

    • 10+ years in retirement plan services
    • Broad experience across client service, plan design, and business development
    • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing teams
    • Strong understanding of ERISA and fiduciary best practices
    • Effective and well-developed interpersonal skills to work with a variety of prospects, clients and other team members
    • Effective communication skills, verbal and written, to communicate within the Division and with prospects and clients
    • Working knowledge of portfolio management principles and how the markets operate
    • Working knowledge of financial planning
    • Experience supporting or participating in client and prospect discussions
    • Ability to partner effectively with internal teams, particularly commercial banking
    • Comfortable representing the business in client-facing situations

    Credentials

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field
    • Designations or licenses not required, but would add value and success to the role (CFP, CWS, or similar designation; Series 7, 65, or 66)

    Location & Travel

    • Based in Madison, WI, with flexibility to consider the Milwaukee market
