MORTGAGE LOAN ASSISTANT

This role can be based anywhere in the state, with a preference for candidates who live within 30 miles of a First Service Bank branch. This allows you to stay connected to our community-driven culture while enjoying statewide flexibility.

We’re looking for a Mortgage Loan Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves staying organized, and enjoys helping customers through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

This is a customer-facing role, so you’ll work directly with borrowers throughout the mortgage process—answering questions, gathering documentation, providing updates, and helping create a smooth, positive experience from application through closing. You’ll also work closely with our mortgage lenders to keep loans moving forward accurately and efficiently.

If you’re detail-oriented, customer-focused, comfortable building relationships, and ready to support a high-performing mortgage team, this role is for you.

What You Will Do:

• Support Loan Officers with new loan applications and file setup
• Collect and review borrower documentation (income, assets, credit, etc.)
• Communicate with borrowers to request missing information
• Enter and update data in the Loan Origination System (LOS)
• Monitor loan files to ensure completeness before processing
• Coordinate with processors, underwriters, title companies, and appraisers
• Track deadlines and maintain accurate documentation
• Provide exceptional service from application through closing

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ year of experience in mortgage, banking, or financial services preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Preferred but Not Required:

• Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and RD loans
