Tank Washer

JOB TITLE: Water Tank Washer

REPORTS TO: Yard Maintenance Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Ag exempt

FUNCTION: To ensure a continuous supply of clean, fresh water for cattle by cleaning water tanks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Other duties may be assigned:

• Removes all algae/moss, feed, manure, dirt or other foreign materials from each water tank on the yard according to schedule issued and training completed. Refills tank with fresh water.

• Reports any issues with tanks to Yard Maintenance crew.

• Complies with all applicable safety rules and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to work near livestock in outdoor weather conditions.

The employee must be able to prepare, plan and recognize situations where they must swiftly exit or guard themselves from unpredictable cattle movement. Pen conditions vary due to weather conditions and cattle movements. Frequently to Occasionally the employee is required to push/pull, reach, bend, run, sit, stand, jump, climb, squat, kneel, lift, carry, twist, grasp/squeeze. Working with or near cattle, horses, vehicles and equipment in all weather conditions.
