Technical Semiconductor Engineer, APAC Excluding China

Position Summary

Forge Nano is seeking an experienced, commercially driven Technical Semiconductor Engineer based in Hsinchu, Taiwan to support semiconductor and advanced manufacturing customers across APAC, excluding mainland China. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding strategic customer relationships, and positioning Forge Nano's precision Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) equipment and nano-coating solutions for high-value semiconductor applications. This role reports to the Head of Business Operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with disciplined commercial execution and the ability to engage engineering, process integration, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders. This individual will work closely with customers to translate complex process challenges into differentiated Forge Nano solutions while supporting regional growth initiatives and long-term strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities 

Business Development & Customer Growth

• Develop a deep understanding of Forge Nano's ALD equipment, customer applications, and differentiated value proposition for semiconductor manufacturers and advanced technology companies.

• Identify, qualify, and advance new business opportunities across APAC excluding China, with primary emphasis on Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Southeast Asia.

• Build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline while supporting regional sales growth objectives.

• Monitor semiconductor industry trends, customer technology roadmaps, emerging applications, and competitive developments.

• Support strategic account development initiatives focused on long-term revenue growth and customer retention.

• Represent Forge Nano at trade shows, technical conferences, customer visits, industry forums, and partner meetings throughout the region.

Technical Sales & Applications Support

• Lead technical discovery discussions to understand customer process requirements, manufacturing challenges, and commercial objectives.

• Translate customers’ needs into Forge Nano solution opportunities and collaborate with Applications, Engineering, Sales, and Service teams to develop winning proposals.

• Provide technical guidance through pre-sales evaluations, feasibility studies, demonstrations, acceptance testing, troubleshooting activities, and post-sale support.

• Support customer qualification efforts involving ALD, thin film deposition, advanced materials, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.

• Develop technical proposals, quotations, commercial presentations, and support customer documentation.

• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both engineering and executive audiences.

Account Management & Relationship Development

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, strategic accounts, channel partners, and semiconductor ecosystem stakeholders.

• Support customer satisfaction, repeat business opportunities, installed-based growth, and long-term account development.

• Coordinate customer communications and project activities across multiple internal functions.

• Provide ongoing technical and commercial support throughout the customer lifecycle.

• Act as a trusted advisor by helping customers evaluate process improvements, production objectives, and technology adoption strategies.

Marketing & Commercial Operations

• Provide technical input for product positioning, messaging, marketing collateral, presentations, webinars, and customer-facing content.

• Support development of regional marketing strategies and market awareness initiatives.

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and sales activities within CRM systems.

• Support commercial planning, pipeline reviews, forecasting activities, and business reporting.

• Collaborate with global teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Semiconductor Technology, or another related STEM discipline. Equivalent technical qualifications combined with relevant commercial experience may be considered.

• 7+ years of successful experience in technical sales, applications engineering, business development, field engineering, or other customer-facing semiconductor roles.

• Experience supporting semiconductor equipment, vacuum systems, thin films, ALD, CVD, PVD, advanced materials, or related capital equipment markets.

• Working knowledge of ALD and thin-film deposition technologies and their applications in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, energy storage, or advanced materials processing.

• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex manufacturing processes and effectively communicate value-based solutions.

• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer engagement skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.

• Hands-on experience using CRM platforms; HubSpot experience preferred.

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and professional-level English.

• Legal authorization to work in Taiwan and ability to travel extensively throughout APAC excluding China.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional Japanese or Korean language capability.

• Experience supporting semiconductor fab, foundries, IDMs, OSATs, OEMs, or advanced manufacturing companies.

• Direct experience with semiconductor process development, equipment qualification, or thin-film applications.

• Established relationships within APAC semiconductor markets outside mainland China.

• Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth technology organizations.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily from Forge Nano's Hsinchu, Taiwan office and requires regular interaction with semiconductor manufacturers, research organizations, channel partners, and technology stakeholders throughout APAC excluding China. The employee will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment when entering production, fabrication, laboratory, or manufacturing environments, including but not limited to safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, laboratory coats, and hard hats where required. Strict adherence to all company safety policies, facility procedures, and applicable health protocols is required.

Travel

This position requires approximately 30% to 50% travel throughout APAC excluding China, including regular visits to customer facilities, industry conferences, trade shows, partner organizations, and strategic account meetings. The successful candidate must be comfortable supporting customers across multiple countries and time zones while serving as a key representative of Forge Nano throughout the region.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: TWD 2,804,500–3,288,000 annually (approximately USD $87K–$102K annually) depending on technical expertise, semiconductor industry experience, regional market knowledge, and commercial performance history. For exceptional senior candidates with established semiconductor capital equipment relationships, total on-target earnings may extend to approximately TWD 3,800,000–4,480,000 annually (approximately USD $118K–$139K annually).

Variable Compensation: Target annual incentive opportunity of 20%–35% of base salary tied to bookings, revenue generation, strategic account development, customer growth objectives, and regional commercial performance.
