About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to provide hands-on support to our electrical and mechanical engineering teams working on our hearing aid devices. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with both electrical and mechanical components, has hands-on soldering and small-device assembly experience, and enjoys tackling a wide range of technical tasks in a fast-moving environment.

This position is full-time on-site in our New York City office.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical and mechanical engineers with a variety of hands-on technical tasks related to our hearing aid devices

• Build, modify, and rework hearing aid devices and components to support engineering and product development

• Perform soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly, and rework as needed

• Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and validation of devices and components

• Support the development and implementation of test equipment

• Support the development and implementation of test plans

• Assemble production devices as needed

• Support documentation, including SOPs and technical procedures

• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards

Minimum qualifications

• High-school diploma; associate degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience in soldering (wires, not SMT)

• Proficiency in working with small devices and components

• General mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand tools

• Ability to work independently and manage a variety of tasks

• Strong work ethic, flexibility, and resourcefulness

• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with medical devices

• Basic programming skills

• Solid modeling skills

• Experience with device testing, troubleshooting, or product development
