Our Accounting Advisory Services team provides technical accounting support and practical financial reporting solutions to a broad range of clients across multiple industries. We help organisations navigate complex accounting challenges, implement new accounting standards and achieve high-quality financial reporting outcomes under IFRS and UK GAAP.

About the Role

As an Associate Director within Accounting Advisory Services, you'll lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of technical accounting projects, supporting clients through complex transactions, changes in accounting standards and financial reporting challenges.

You'll work closely with Partners, Directors and clients, providing technical expertise, managing teams and helping develop new business opportunities. This role offers significant exposure to varied accounting issues and the opportunity to establish yourself as a trusted advisor to a broad client base.

We're seeking an experienced accounting professional who combines exceptional technical expertise with strong client relationship and leadership skills. You'll be passionate about solving complex accounting challenges, developing people and supporting the growth of a successful advisory practice.

• Lead the delivery of complex accounting advisory engagements from proposal stage through to completion, ensuring excellent client outcomes and commercial success.

• Provide technical accounting advice on a wide range of client matters, including complex transactions, financial reporting issues and accounting framework implementation.

• Prepare and review high-quality technical accounting papers, reports and formal accounting opinions.

• Build trusted relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering practical, tailored solutions.

• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and contribute to business development activities across the Accounting Advisory Services team.

• Support clients through the implementation of new accounting standards and changes in financial reporting requirements.

• Manage, coach and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

• Work closely with colleagues across Audit, Tax and Advisory to deliver integrated solutions for clients.

• Contribute to the team's profile through networking, technical publications and thought leadership activities.

• Demonstrate strong project management skills, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.

• Strong technical expertise in IFRS, UK GAAP (FRS 102) and UK Company Law.

• Experience gained within a professional services environment in a technical accounting, financial reporting or accounting advisory role.

• A proven ability to analyse complex accounting matters and deliver practical, client-focused advice.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting formal technical accounting conclusions and recommendations.

• Strong research and analytical capabilities.

• Experience producing technical publications, guidance or thought leadership content.

• Experience building and managing client relationships, with a track record of delivering high-quality service and winning repeat work.

• Strong commercial awareness, including managing engagement budgets and supporting fee negotiations.

• A collaborative leadership style and a genuine commitment to developing and mentoring others.

• The ability to think innovatively and deliver solutions tailored to individual client needs.
