    Purpose of Position:

Qualified candidates will possess strong technical fundamentals, sound problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and the drive to turn business needs into working solutions.

    Description:

The Technical People Data & Reporting Analyst develops and maintains the data foundation that supports people reporting, analytics, and business decision-making. This position designs data pipelines, develops SQL and API-based data extraction solutions, models data for reporting, and creates reports and dashboards that improve access to reliable and actionable information.

Working closely with HRIS, Human Resources, Compliance, and other business partners, the analyst translates business needs into practical technical solutions and delivers reporting, analytics, and data products that support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical skills with curiosity, ownership, and a willingness to learn, and is comfortable taking a project from requirements through implementation.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and datasets that support reporting and analytics initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain API-based solutions to retrieve and integrate data from enterprise applications and web services.
    • Create, maintain, and optimize reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions using Power BI, SQL, and other reporting tools.
    • Perform ad hoc analysis and deliver actionable insights to support business and operational decision-making.
    • Gather requirements, partner with stakeholders, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
    • Develop and maintain data models that support scalable reporting and analytics.
    • Monitor data quality, analyze discrepancies, and help ensure data integrity across systems.
    • Troubleshoot data-related issues and support enhancements to reporting and integration processes.
    • Document data sources, business rules, and technical processes to support long-term maintainability.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
    • Experience developing reports, dashboards, or analytical solutions using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
    • Experience working with APIs and structured data formats (JSON, XML), or demonstrated aptitude for learning API-based data retrieval and integration techniques.
    • Understanding of data modeling concepts and the relationship between source data, analytical datasets, and reporting solutions.
    • Proven ability to investigate data issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions to complex business and technical problems.
    • Ability to gather requirements, navigate ambiguity, and independently move projects from concept through implementation.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, processes, and business domains quickly.
    • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when working with sensitive workforce, financial, or personnel data.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience developing data pipelines and automated data processes.
    • Experience working with HR, workforce, payroll, compliance, or other sensitive business data.
    • Experience with UKG, Lawson, or similar enterprise systems.
    • Experience with developing reports in UKG People Analytics (Cognos BI)
    • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Logic Apps, SSIS, or similar ETL/ELT technologies.
    • Experience with HRIS, workforce management, payroll, or other workforce-related data.
    • Experience with Postman, SoapUI, SFTP processes, or API testing tools.
