MANUFACTURING ENGINEER INTERN

Frazer builds the emergency medical vehicles and mobile healthcare units that first responders and healthcare workers depend on around the world. As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you'll get real hands-on exposure to how production processes actually get built, improved, and documented, not just how they're described in a textbook. This role matters because the improvements you help identify make it easier and safer for our production teams to build vehicles that save lives.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Manufacturing Engineer Intern Look Like?

• Walks the production floor observing fabrication and assembly workflows firsthand

• Digs into process data to spot where time, material, or quality is being lost

• Sits in on design and process review meetings with engineers and quality staff

• Updates work instructions and CAD layouts so documentation matches the current process

• Troubleshoots an equipment issue alongside a production technician

• Enters and checks routings in the MES/ERP system for accuracy

• Helps test a new fixture or tool before it goes into full production use

• Documents findings from a root cause analysis session with the engineering team

Required Education and Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field

• Junior or Senior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Some exposure to CAD software through coursework or projects

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Prior internship or project experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

• Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts

• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems or basic metal fabrication processes
