These mission-enabling applications support workforce management, finance, acquisitions, security processing, training, recruitment, logistics, program management, executive decision-making, and other critical business functions across multiple secure environments.

We are seeking a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on cloud-based systems. In this role, you will support the Lead Systems Engineer by interfacing directly with development teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality solutions. Your primary responsibilities will center on functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), compliance adherence, and requirements management. You will play a key role in developing functional, integration, and acceptance test plans to validate system performance and reliability in cloud environments. 

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Lead System Engineer and cross-functional development teams to facilitate the implementation of cloud-based systems, emphasizing functional testing and UAT to verify system functionality and user experience.
• Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business needs, regulatory compliance, and technical standards.
• Develop comprehensive test plans for installation, integration, and acceptance phases, including documentation, execution, and reporting test outcomes in cloud infrastructures (i.e. AWS).
• Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, to provide systems engineering insights and support iterative improvements.
• Communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for solutions developed by product teams, bridging gaps between engineering, development, and stakeholders to foster cohesive system design and deployment.
• Assist in troubleshooting cloud system issues, optimizing configurations, and ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with industry standards (i.e., NIST, ISO, Section 508).

Required Qualifications: 

• TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
• A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and seven (7) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.  Twelve (12) years’ SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with cloud technologies and testing methodologies.
• Understanding and experience using the Atlassian Suite, such as Jira for issue tracking and project management, and Confluence for documentation and knowledge base management.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), requirements elicitation, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align teams around a unified architectural vision.

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of functional testing frameworks (i.e., Selenium) and UAT processes in agile environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (i.e., AWS) and tools for automation, CI/CD pipelines (i.e., Jenkins, GitLab) and test management.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, CompTIA Security+, or similar.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $130,000-$160,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
