Overview
Facility Solutions Group is expanding its staff and seeking a talented Electrical Estimator to join our thriving FSG Lenexa team.
In this role, you will:
- Obtain, track, and negotiate subcontract bids and project budgets
- Prepare and present comprehensive estimate documentation
- Read and interpret plans, proposals, and other documentation to create bids
- Analyze data to reduce gaps between estimates and actual costs
Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to define project scope, proactively resolve challenges, strategically negotiate pricing, and build lasting professional relationships that drive mutual success.
- Conduct thorough market research to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing that positions projects for success.
- Review completed estimates and proposals for thoroughness, accuracy, value engineering alternatives and compliance with strategic goals.
- Strategically track and forecast bid outcomes to optimize pipeline and drive business growth.
- Prepare proposals for budgetary and conceptual estimates and for strategic opportunities.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and/or meet with customers to identify project scope.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of bid documents and ensure timely delivery.
- Attend bid de-scope meetings and ensure completion of open items.
- Schedule and attend job turnover meetings and assure preparation of job turnover meeting materials.
- Lead the analysis of job labor data from operations to enhance the estimating database and continuously improve field productivity insights.
- Schedule and attend project postmortems and catalogue historical information.
- Review material pricing provided by purchasing and suppliers and update the estimating database accordingly.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of electrical estimating experience with medium to large commercial projects
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized estimating software (experience with Accubid preferred)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while consistently meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
