As a Banking Operations Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end banking operations function, including payment processing, vendor management, correspondent banking relationships, and team leadership. This is a role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on operational expertise in a fast-paced digital banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end oversight of payment lifecycles, from initiation through processing, settlement, and reconciliation, monitoring flows to identify bottlenecks, failures, or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
- Ensure all payment processes comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, keeping procedural documentation current and audit-ready
- Manage vendor agreements, negotiate contract terms, SLAs, and pricing, and monitor vendor performance, escalating or resolving service issues as needed
- Lead integration programs with new payment providers and banking partners, coordinating across technical, compliance, and operations teams
- Maintain and strengthen correspondent banking relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for operational queries, escalations, account maintenance, and liquidity management
- Supervise and continuously improve payment authorisation procedures, analysing performance data to identify trends, root causes of declines, and opportunities for improvement
- Lead and develop a team of banking operations professionals, setting clear objectives, monitoring key operational KPIs, and preparing regular performance reports for senior management
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in banking operations, payments, or financial services, with at least 1 years in a managerial role
- Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, settlement, and reconciliation processes
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating SLAs and contracts
- Familiarity with correspondent banking operations and account maintenance
- Knowledge of payment authorisation processes and performance optimization
- Experience working with compliance, risk, and technology teams in a regulated environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and drive improvements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced, international environment
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
