In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Concrete Pump Operator
The Concrete Pump Operator is responsible for safely
operating and maintaining machinery that transfers liquid concrete to construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate concrete pump trucks to direct the flow of concrete to designated locations on construction sites.
- Set up and inspect pump equipment prior to operation, ensuring all safety and operational procedures are followed.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and concrete truck drivers to ensure timely delivery and placement.
- Monitor pump operation during concrete pour to detect any blockages or mechanical issues.
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on pump equipment to ensure proper function.
- Clean the pump truck and equipment after each use to maintain hygiene and performance standards.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate logs of operations, deliveries, and equipment issues.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification would be an asset.
- 3
years of experience as concrete pump operator - Proven experience operating concrete pumps or similar heavy equipment.
- Understanding of concrete mix properties and pumpable limits.
- Ability to lift heavy materials, work in outdoor conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations related to concrete pumping.
Working Conditions
- Position based at the OKO Project site. Fly-in/Fly-out.
- Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
