In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

Kitchen Cook

The Kitchen Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for site personnel in accordance with food safety regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning food
• Follow standard recipes and instructions from senior cooks or chefs
• Set up workstations with the necessary ingredients and equipment
• Cook basic menu items such as soups, vegetables, sauces, and simple dishes
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation, including sanitizing surfaces and proper food storage
• Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations
• Assist with receiving and storing food supplies and rotating stock as needed
• Support other kitchen staff during busy periods and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills and Experience

• Food Handling Certificate or any other related food certificate
• Strong understanding of dietary requirements and allergy management
• Excellent time management and teamwork skills
• Experience working with industrial kitchen equipment

Working Conditions

Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.

Compensation Package

1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
