Engineering Instructor

This is a part-time role (4-8 hours per week, with an opportunity for more) for enthusiastic Austin-based Galvanize alumni looking to put their programming skills to practice as an educator. The commitments vary depending on school sites and include opportunities every day of the week. One specific school site begins on Thursday, August 26th, and continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-3pm for 7 weeks. All available roles are in-person positions and school sites are located in Central Austin.

Hello World is a K12 computer science organization that provides programs to students in 3rd-12th grades in cutting-edge course topics such as Web Development, Data Science & AI, AI & Self Driving Cars, and Virtual Reality (JavaScript-based language). The organization works with all students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds who have been historically underrepresented in tech fields, and aspires to provide them with a computer science education that changes the trajectory of their lives. Hello World has a long (~5 year) history with Galvanize and has worked with many graduates in the past. Galvanize alumni have taught many of our courses, supported schools, and have even written some of our curricula.
