    Job description

    Finance Project Engineer (PE)

Build the financial backbone of construction projects shaping the future of AI infrastructure

At GCON, we are not just building structures—we are enabling the next generation of innovation. Our projects sit at the intersection of advanced technology, high-performance infrastructure, and world-class execution, including developments that will help power the AI revolution.

We are seeking a Finance Project Engineer (PE) who is excited to operate at the unique crossroads of construction and finance—a role where precision, organization, and problem-solving directly impact the success of some of the most forward-thinking projects in the industry.

This is not a traditional back-office finance role. This is a project-facing, high-impact position where you will help drive financial clarity, discipline, and momentum on complex construction programs.

    Why This Role Is Different

This role offers a rare opportunity to develop expertise in both:

    • Construction execution (how projects are built), and
    • Financial performance (how projects succeed)

    You’ll gain exposure to:

    • Large-scale, technically complex builds
    • JV and GCON-led programs
    • Real-time financial decision-making that directly affects project outcomes

If you’re someone who thrives in a continuous improvement environment, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow into project leadership, cost engineering, or construction finance—this role is a launchpad.

    What Matters Most

We don’t expect you to know everything on day one.

    What we do expect:

    • You are highly organized and detail-oriented
    • You can manage multiple moving pieces without losing clarity
    • You are a problem solver who takes ownership

We will teach you the systems, workflows, and technical details.
Your mindset and ability to execute are what matter most.

    Key Responsibilities

    Cost Management & Financial Execution

    • Support Project Managers in managing cost documentation, tracking, and workflows
    • Maintain accurate budgets, forecasts, and cost reports within CMIC
    • Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation alongside the Cost Engineer
    • Support budget adjustments using established processes and approval structures

    Change Management

    • Prepare and manage change documentation (PCIs, SCOs, OCOs)
    • Coordinate subcontractor change orders from creation through execution
    • Track and manage change order status and owner submission timelines
    • Ensure all documentation is properly executed and stored

    Billing & Invoice Support

    • Assist with monthly billing cycles and owner invoice preparation
    • Coordinate with Accounting on invoice coding, review, and routing
    • Ensure subcontractor documentation is complete and compliant for payment processing

    Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

    • Support onboarding and system setup in CMIC and Textura
    • Assist with subcontractor payment tracking and coordination
    • Maintain accurate vendor records and cost coding structures

    Document Control & Systems Accuracy

    • Maintain financial and contract documentation across systems
    • Ensure accuracy of cost data, budgets, and change tracking
    • Support compliance with project and company documentation standards

    Collaboration & Process Improvement

    • Act as a resource for financial workflows and documentation standards
    • Partner with Accounting, Cost Engineering, and Project Teams
    • Contribute to improving consistency and efficiency across project financial processes

    Project Assignment & Travel Opportunity

This position will support a flagship project in Ft. Stockton, TX, playing a direct role in delivering infrastructure tied to next-generation technology and AI expansion.
