Position Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and troubleshooting on plant mechanical systems and production equipment—including fillers, processing, packaging, robotics, and automation equipment. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment operates reliably and efficiently to prevent downtime. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, repairs, and improvements to keep equipment operating at required efficiency levels.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including fillers, conveyors, and case erectors.
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and test equipment such as vibration meters and laser alignment systems.
- Maintain accurate work logs and documentation using the CMMS work order system for preventive maintenance, equipment modifications, and emergency repairs.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
